‘BEST COMEDY’ SHOWS 2024

We’re delighted that the ‘Rhod Gilbert & The Giant Grapefruit’ tour has been commended in multiple critics round-ups of ‘Best Comedy’ shows in 2024.

The show has been featured in The Guardian, The Telegraph, Chortle, The British Comedy Guide and The Arts Desk lists for ‘best’ and ‘most memorable’ comedy shows this year.

“Cancer comedy is a tightrope, always a risk of piety or gloom where laughter ought to be. No such danger here, with a barnstorming set by the Welshman on his cancer journey. Yes, the joy was multiplied by Gilbert’s recent all-clear and patent happiness to be alive. But the comedy craft and big-hitting gags played their part too.” The Guardian

”Gilbert’s roof-raising account of his cancer diagnosis and treatment surely left all who saw it feeling glad to be alive.” Telegraph

“It’s not surprising that it packed a hefty emotional punch but it was as funny as it was life-affirming with Gilbert extracting laughs from every physical indignity he suffered – carefully ramping up already extreme situations to brilliant effect.” Chortle

“Searingly honest – and mordantly funny” The Arts Desk

Rhod’s tour resumes across the UK and Ireland in January and runs until November 2025.
